“We are thrilled to welcome Helen Bautista, LNHA, to this year’s Future Leaders program,” said Mark Parkinson, president and CEO of AHCA/NCAL. “Her dedication and vision for the future of long-term care is what sets her apart as a true leader in the making.”
“We are so excited that Helen has been chosen for the Future Leaders program,” said Jessica Pelligrino Tsoukalas, Executive Vice President for Bridgeway Senior Healthcare. “Every day, she demonstrates her dedication to diligently learning all she can about how to make the lives of our residents better and how to make the jobs of our hard-working staff rewarding and enjoyable.”
Bautista began her career in admissions and business development 12 years ago, helping organizations increase their census and offering countless families guidance in the rehabilitation and long-term care process. Three years ago Bautista obtained her Licensed Nursing Home Administrators (LNHA) certification, and she holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management.
“When I got my first job in long-term care, it was love at first sight,” said Bautista. “What I love the most about long-term care is that we get to spend the last few years of someone’s life with them and help to make them feel heard. We get to be a second family, and in some cases, a first family to our residents.”
AHCA/NCAL developed the Future Leaders program in 2004. Selected participants demonstrate both leadership potential and represent the interests of state and national long-term care providers. The program covers the latest theories and practical applications in quality management, customer satisfaction and leadership. The yearlong program kicks off with the “Future Leaders of Long-Term Care in America” Symposium held each year in Washington, D.C.
