Max Acro Paragliding Announces Winners of the Young Gun Scholarship

San Diego, California May 21, 2024 (Issuewire.com) – Max Acro Paragliding (maxacro.com) is pleased to announce the winners of the 2024 Max Acro Paragliding Young Gun Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded annually to applicants under 25 years old who demonstrate not only a financial need but also a commitment to their own a aerobatic acrobatic paragliding progression in the US and a dedication to the United States Paragliding community through active participation in various paragliding activities.

The Max Acro Paragliding Young Gun Scholarship aims to support the next generation of paragliding pilots and professionals by providing them with the opportunity to further their paragliding knowledge, training, and overall safety through SIV clinics, instructor and tandem instructor seminars/clinics, and educational credits worth $10,000 to be used at Max Acro Paragliding.

This year provided some amazing applications and it was extremely difficult to decide on a winner so we have decided to award TWO recipients this year of the Max Acro Paragliding Young Gun Scholarship. They are:

  • Wyatt Weaver – Wyatt Weaver, the founder of Fly High SoCal, has been selected as one of the scholarship recipients. Wyatt’s passion for paragliding began at a young age, and he has since become an instructor, providing instructional tandem flights in the San Bernardino Mountains. Wyatt’s determination to become an acro pilot and his commitment to sharing his passion with others make him a deserving candidate for this scholarship.
  • Deryk Goerke – Deryk Goerke’s journey into paragliding started with his fascination for anything flying-related. He took matters into his own hands and built his own glider as a high school physics project, showcasing his dedication and resourcefulness. Daryk’s desire to share his love for flying and his aspiration to fly acro make him a deserving recipient of the Young Gun Scholarship.

Max Acro Paragliding believes in supporting young and upcoming pilots and professionals in the paragliding industry. The scholarship provides financial assistance to individuals who face financial constraints but have a strong drive to excel in paragliding and acrobatic training.

“We are thrilled to award the Max Acro Paragliding Young Gun Scholarship to Wyatt Weaver and Deryk Goerke. Both individuals have demonstrated their passion and commitment to paragliding, and we believe that this scholarship will help them further their skills and contribute to the paragliding community,” said Max Marien, spokesperson for Max Acro Paragliding.

Max Acro Paragliding is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of paragliding pilots and professionals, and the Young Gun Scholarship is just one of the ways they support the industry’s future leaders.
